eCommerce credit card fraud is nearly an inevitability
New research by Riskified on the online shopping habits and preferences of 5,000 US consumers, shows that the older consumers get, the more likely they are to fall victim to eCommerce credit card fraud.
Overall, just under half (49%) of respondents has become a victim of this type of fraud. For people aged 18-21 the percentage was only 18.3%, but for people over 31, the percentage was over 50%, with the highest number being recorded for the 71+ category (57.1%). Online fraud is also a major issue for the retailers themselves for various reasons, including loss of customers and the cancellation of potentially legitimate orders due to security considerations.
