ISIS vows Eiffel Tower drone attack
Only months after Paris installed a massive glass bullet proof wall and anti-terrorism defense system around its iconic landmark, ISIS propaganda has threatened a suicide drone attack on the Eiffel Tower. In a striking image released by an ISIS-affiliated group, the Tower sits within a set of crosshairs while a drone carries large package towards it and a jihadist carrying an automatic rifle stands in the foreground. The threat “await for our surprises” sits below the image. This post comes only a week after US FBI Director Christopher Wray highlighted the “threat from Unmanned Aircraft Systems,” saying that “while there has been no successful use of UAS by terrorists in the US to date, terrorist groups could easily export their battlefield experiences to use weaponized UAS outside the conflict zone.”
