Two letters sent to the Pentagon and addressed to Secretary of Defense Mattis and Chief of Naval Operations John Richardson were found to contain ricin, a deadly poison made from castor beans. Another suspicious envelope addressed to President Trump is suspected of containing the substance. Both cases will undergo official lab testing due to the possibility of false positives in the field. The Pentagon’s mail center is under quarantine as the investigation continues.
