The US envoy to Bangladesh was attacked by armed men during protests in the capital of Dhaka on Saturday. The ambassador escaped the area, but two vehicles were damaged. Bangladesh has seen a week of protests for safer roads after two children were killed by a bus. Protestors have been stopping track on clogged streets and checking vehicle documents before letting them pass. The protests have since escalated and resulted in dozens of injuries. The government has blocked mobile data services in efforts to prevent further organization of protests, and has dispersed several protests with teargas.
