Brazil’s right-wing presidential frontrunner lashes out against Chinese involvement in the country
Jair Bolsonaro, the current frontrunner in the ongoing presidential race in Brazil, has vowed to review Brazil’s relationship with China if elected president. China has been blamed for winning mining concession and shutting out local companies, as well as for not purchasing Brazilian goods. These accusations echo those of many other countries as they question the impact of Chinese partnerships. Instead, Bolsonaro has looked to Japan as its exemplar of international partnership and trade.
