Iran’s army will “cut off the hand” of any attacker, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said during an annual military parade today. In a typically defiant speech to mark national army day, Mr Ahmadinjad played down the effect of UN sanctions over the country’s nuclear programme, and said its military was self-sufficient.
