An anti-terror police operation is ongoing in the Algerian province of Bouira, 120 kilometres east of Algiers, to look for militants with the Salafite Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC) hiding in the area, Kuwaiti news agency Kuna reports. The operation in the mountanious areas of Ghabas and Lalla Umm al-Saad reportedly started at the beginning of the week and led to six arrests. Two militants were also allegedly killed in clashes with the police. The GSPC, which has sworn allegiance to al-Qaeda, is believed to train militants in the area TO then send them to Iraq. Full Story
