Peace advocates and community leaders in the conflict-affected areas in Mindanao have organized a lobby mission group to meet with top government officials and call for a break in the impasse in peace talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The group, composed of 17 peace advocates and community leaders, will troop to Manila this week “to present a modest set of proposals on how to break the impasse and move forward” to President Arroyo, senators, congressmen and the diplomatic community.
