At least 12 policemen have been killed in a landmine blast triggered by suspected rebels in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand, police say. The incident took place when a police team was attempting to defuse a bomb planted in a school building in the West Singhbhum district. It is located some 250km (156 miles) south of the state capital Ranchi. More than 6,000 people have died during the rebels’ 20-year fight for a communist state in parts of India. Full Story
