A 28-year-old Portland woman with strong Eugene ties — one of six people arrested on ecoterrorism charges in an FBI sweep on both coasts — pleaded not guilty in federal court Thursday to knocking down a power transmission tower near Bend just before the millennium. Chelsea Dawn Gerlach told the judge she understood her rights, but said little else. Pat Ehlers, a court-appointed attorney, entered the plea for her. Four of the six suspects were arrested for crimes committed in Oregon, the two others for an arson attack in Washington state. The arrests were made in Oregon, Arizona, Virginia and New York City.
