The Sudanese government is saying the right things about trying to end bloodshed in the Darfur region but the United States is looking for action, Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick said after meeting with Sudanese officials Thursday.”The responses that I’ve been given are good responses,” Zoellick said, “but this has been a problem that left tens of thousands of people dying so we have to solve the problem.” Two days after the United States warned that peace must be reached to ensure future international aid for Sudan’s recovery, Ali Osman Mohammed Taha, Sudan’s first vice president, said the Sudanese government is laboring to end the killing.Full Story
