Investigation police on Monday claimed to have arrested four local associates of an alleged al-Qaeda operative Abu Al-Faraj who carries Rs 250 million bounty on his head for his suspected involvement in two assassination attempts on President Pervez Musharraf last year. Two hand grenades and four TT pistols with 120 bullets were found on the accused. Speaking at a press conference here at his office, SSP Ch Shafqaat further claimed to have captured two other close contacts of Faraj but he withheld their identities. The SSP said that Malik Tahseen alias Abdul Jabbar Alvi alias Liaqat alias Vicky, Amer Maqsood alias Abu Haroon, Mahmood Ahmad, and Sajjad Haider were caught from Minar-e-Pakistan when they were planning another dacoity for getting explosives. “Malik Tahseen of Taxla is a close aide of Faraj and he had arranged a house on rent in Abbotabad for the terrorist,” Shafqaat said and claimed Crime Investigation Department was investigating the two other arrested aides of Faraj.
