Almost one in three (32%) small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) were affected by a security breach in the last five years, and at least 10% experienced a breach in the past year, a new Kaseya survey indicates. The report reveals major shortcomings in terms of patch management, with just 42% of SMBs indicating that they are automating or plan to automate this basic security practice. Moreover, the number of organizations that implement critical security updates within 30 days is also just 42%.
Given this reality, it makes sense that boosting security topped the list of key priorities for SMBs, ahead of IT cost reduction and improving IT service availability.
