The findings of a new study by nCipher Security and the Ponemon Institute imply that companies are more worried about security incidents resulting from errors than is true for intentional malicious acts. In response to a question that allowed for multiple answers, 54% of respondents identified staff error as the largest risk to companies, while 30% mentioned system errors (30%).
Other major concerns were hackers (30%), temporary workers (22%), malicious insiders (21%), third-party risks (19%), unlawful government espionage (12%) and lawful government interference (11%).
