New research by Sophos shows that cyberattacks are rarely discovered on endpoints, even though that is where many cyberattacks start. The survey found that while 37% of cyberattacks on mid-sized organizations are discovered on servers and another 37% on networks, a mere 17% are detected on endpoints and only 10% on mobile devices.
Furthermore, in 20% of cases, IT managers do not figure out how cybercriminals got a foothold on the organization’s systems, while the duration of the breach remains unknown for 17% of cyberattacks. Given this reality, it is hardly surprising that 8 out of 10 IT decision makers would like to have a stronger security team at their disposal.
