A Mexican judge has temporarily halted the extradition of six Spaniards arrested a year ago on suspicion of having links with the Basque separatist group ETA, their lawyer said on Monday. Mexico agreed to extradite the six in July, one year after they were arrested when police discovered information on how to make chemical weapons and other evidence in a house in the Pacific coast resort of Puerto Escondido. The six have appealed the extradition and a judge decided to halt temporarily the order to send them to Spain to face charges until the appeal is heard, the Spaniards’ lawyer Barbara Zamora told Reuters.
