The Islamic militant group Hamas warned Thursday it would strike Israelis everywhere in retaliation for the killing of 15 Palestinians, while tens of thousands of mourners led by gunmen marched in funeral processions. The massive firing of assault rifles provided a steady, popping drumbeat as the processions snaked through Gaza City. Two Israeli raids in the strip Wednesday resulted in the bloodiest day of military operations in more than a year. In new violence Thursday, a Hamas activist was killed by army fire during an arrest raid outside the West Bank town of Ramallah. An army spokeswoman said the man was killed while fleeing troops who came to arrest him. Abdel Aziz Rantisi, a Hamas leader, said on the group’s Web site that Israelis “will weep blood rather than tears.” Full Story
