The trial of four Kenyans charged with murder in connection with the 2002 car-bombing of an Israeli-owned hotel near Mombasa was adjourned again to allow the prosecution to check if two court assessors are related to the accused. It was the second deferment this week of the case that was meant to have opened last Monday. It will now begin on February 2. Prosecutor Edwin Okello asked Judge Kalpana Rawal to give him more time to scrutinize the credentials of two court assessors, Adan Sheikh Hussein and Said Sheikh Hussein, specifically to check whether they are related to the suspects. “I beg for more time to assess the credentials of the two … they could be related to the suspects,” Okello said.
