Lebanon will release a Palestinian taxi driver held in connection with a foiled bomb attack on the heavily fortified U.S. embassy in Beirut, court sources said on Wednesday. Lebanon said it foiled an attack on the embassy last week after the army arrested a Lebanese man at the gates of the compound with a one-kg (2.2-lb) bomb concealed in a sports bag. His Palestinian taxi driver was also arrested. Two days later police arrested another Lebanese man a security source said was suspected of masterminding the plot. The taxi driver, Ibrahim Serhal, was expected to be released soon, after investigators determined that he did not appear to be connected to the attack, the court sources said. Full Story
