Fighters from the Shiite Hizbollah are not active in Iraq, the Lebanon-based organisation’s leader said Monday, saying such claims were propaganda spread by Britain, Israel and the United States. “This is not true … Our main battlefields are Lebanon and Palestine. We are active in these two fields, but have no military or security action outside of them,” Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah told Saudi Arabia’s Al Watan newspaper. He said the US-British occupation authorities in Iraq, in a bid to show that resistance in the country was not internal, tried to circulate information that Hizbollah, which is fighting a guerrilla war against Israel, was active in Iraq.
