The former wife of a Columbus truck driver accused of being at the heart of a plot to destroy the Brooklyn Bridge said today that she had not known of his activities and that hearing of them had made her physically ill. The former wife, Geneva Bowling, who lives in a town house here with her son, declined today to say much about Iyman Faris, her husband from 1995 until 2000, when they divorced. But it was likely that federal investigators would question her closely on his comings and goings, particularly about his trips to the Middle East. Investigators may also comb legal records related to the divorce. An examination of them today showed that on Feb. 14, 2000, Mr. Faris asked for a postponement of a hearing set for March 13, 2000, so that he could travel to the Middle East for a “family emergency.” Full Story
