When Andrew Trousdale returned home from a party on December 2 last year and found that his Hotmail account had been hijacked, he did not realise the saga that would play out until it would cease to bother him. Trousdale, who lives in the Melbourne suburb of Carnegie, found most of the 300-odd emails in his account missing; he could use his password on that one occasion but the next time he tried to get in, he found the password had been changed as well. The same had been done with the secret question and answer which some Web mail outfits use to help members remember forgotten passwords. Soon, Trousdale began receiving email from various people in his address book, querying as to why he was sending them other people’s private correspondence. Full Story
