“Nigeria’s state-run oil company on Monday denied claims made by a new militant group that they have attacked a major oil pipeline in the country’s oil-rich southern delta.
The Niger Delta Liberation Force said they had attacked a major pipeline belonging the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation near Batan flow in Delta State. Levi Ajonuma, the company’s spokesman, denied claims made by the group.
‘No pipeline was blown up,’ he told The Associated Press.
Oil companies in Nigeria sometimes deny such militant claims, which can affect oil prices, but militant groups are also known to make false claims.”
