Just when you think you heard it all or think that airport security is where is should be, a recent incident proves otherwise. Upon arrival at an airport, the quest for the elusive boarding pass begins the lengthy and frustrating hurdles and hoops through which travelers must jump to enter the secure zone of the airport.

One man proved it was possible to board an airplane without obtaining a boarding pass and without even purchasing a ticket. TSA and American Airlines are pointing at each other as to whose security procedure was not followed. A TSA spokeswoman stated that the man inquired about purchasing a same-day ticket. The transaction did not occur, but American gave an itinerary on a paper stock that looks very similar to a legitimate boarding pass. Danis Ballard used the printed flight itinerary to board the plane. He managed to go through all security checkpoints with the paper itinerary as his boarding pass.
