A Nigerian appeals court affirmed the removal of a ruling party governor on Tuesday, saying he was elected unlawfully in last year’s flawed and chaotic polls. The Court of Appeal said Oserheimen Osunbor of the People’s Democratic Party did not get most votes in the April 2007 vote, upholding the judgment of an elections tribunal that annulled the governor’s victory nearly eight months ago.
