The former tax lawyer of the Italian Prime Minister will now stand trial alone in a fraud case after Silvio Berlusconi won a long-running court battle giving him immunity from prosecution. David Mills, the estranged husband of Britain’s Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell, will be tried in Milan on charges of accepting USD 600,000 bribe in 1997 from Berlusconi to give false testimony in a corruption case involving alleged tax fraud in the PM’s media empire, media reports in Rome said.
