German investor confidence hit a record low point in July, a key survey showed on Tuesday, but analysts shied away from forecasting a recession as high oil prices and the euro weighed on the economy. The ZEW research institute said its closely watched index of economic sentiment fell 11.5 points to minus 63.9 points, the lowest level since the survey began in December 1991, in findings that were also affected by the latest US financial crisis.
