Bank of England policymakers voted 8-1 to leave interest rates at 5.00 percent earlier this month, according to minutes of their meeting that were published on Wednesday. The central bank’s nine-member Monetary Policy Committee left its key lending rate on hold after a two-day meeting on June 4-5, in a move which analysts said was aimed at dampening high inflation despite slowing growth.
