A US government team is visiting North Korea to discuss food aid, South Korea’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday, amid growing fears the communist state may be slipping closer to famine. “North Korea is known to be suffering difficulties because of a poor harvest following last year’s floods and a recent hike in grain prices,” ministry spokesman Moon Tae-Young told a briefing.
