European equities rose on Tuesday, with the energy sector boosted by record high oil prices, but banks fell out of favour after Britain’s RBS announced a record-breaking rights issue. London’s FTSE 100 index of leading companies added 0.21 percent to 6,065.60 points in early afternoon trade, Frankfurt’s DAX 30 won 0.30 percent to 6,806.85 points and in Paris the CAC 40 increased by 0.27 percent to 4,923.67.
