Air France-KLM said Monday its offer was the only one that would allow Italian flag carrier Alitalia to return to profitable growth quickly and that the company’s future now depended solely on its workforce and unions. At a board meeting after talks with Alitalia were cut off last week, Air France-KLM said management formally noted the end of the negotiations, a move “which was understood and approved” after hearing a report from chairman Jean-Cyril Spinetta.
