An alleged terrorist training camp in rural Ontario was used to “screen” people who could be useful soldiers while most of the campers – a “hapless ‘F-Troop'” – were unaware of its true purpose, according to a defence lawyer for one of the accused terrorists. “All other attendees . . . who were deliberately kept on the ‘down low’, or ignorant of its purpose . . . had been told it was nothing more than a winter camping trip,” a defence lawyer wrote in a factum filed Wednesday in response to one filed earlier by the Crown.
