Recent developments in Turkey were a matter of concern and could lead to a polarization of the public which in turn could result in a regime crisis, Turkey’s peak business association said Monday. In a written statement issued in Istanbul, the Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TUSIAD) said that non-political interventions to political scene prevent Turkey being seen as a country which is governed with universal democracy rules, while opportunities to place advanced democratic standards are missed.
