A deadline to secure the release of two Austrians believed to be held in northern Mali drew closer Sunday, as the African nation sent more troops to battle rebels in the volatile region. More Malian troops were deployed as the security situation in the north has deteriorated following further clashes on Saturday with Tuareg rebels.
