The Algerian army’s anti-terror offensive in the Yakouren forest has continued for the past ten days, El Watan reported on Monday (March 10th). In an effort to clamp down on a major terror group believed to belong to al-Qaeda Organisation in the Islamic Maghreb, the army deployed additional elite units including paratroopers on Wednesday, the paper added. El Watan also reported that five people were arrested Saturday in Tébessa wilaya. The men were suspected of providing logistical support to a terrorist group in the villages of Jebel El Kmakem and Boudjelal Gabel. Full Story
