A rebel group in Central African Republic said on Friday it had killed five government soldiers and lost one of its own men in clashes this week near the country’s northwestern border with Chad. The Popular Army for the Restoration of the Republic and Democracy (APRD), one of the last rebel groups not to have signed a peace deal with the government, said the fighting on Tuesday and Wednesday took place near the town of Bocaranga.
