A bomb attack on the office of the Nepal Election Commission in Banke district’s Nepalgunj town on Friday was reported even as strikes and shutdown by Terai-based pro-Madhesi groups, demanding greater economic and political rights, paralysed the region. According to Chief District Officer Narendra Raj Sharma, the bomb attack on the election commission’s office damaged the residence of employees, furniture and a computer.
