Hamas political leader Khaled Meshal said that abducted Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit is “alive and well,” in an interview with the Italian weekly Panorama published Friday, Israel Radio reported.The Damascus-based leader told the Italian magazine that Shalit’s kidnappers are treating him well, and asked why Israelis worry so much about one soldier when some 12,000 Palestinians are jailed in Israel, including women and children.
