Members of law enforcing agency in Bangladesh on Monday arrested three alleged smugglers, including two Myanmar nationals, along with explosives and ammunition in its Teknaf frontier, a southeastern bordering area of the country.
Acting on a tip of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) raided the area and arrested them red-handed. They also recovered 91 bullets of M-60 riffle, seven bullets of 9mm pistol, from their possessions.
The arrestees were identified as Jajang, 28, and Thoithoi, 30, of
Arakan, Myanmar and Mamang, 35, of Guimari of Khagrachhari, a hilly district. They are being interrogated in RAB custody.
Meanwhile, another report from Bandarban said BDR members destroyed a den of terrorists at Boidyapara in Naikhangchhari upazila and seized three firearms early Tuesday. However, there was no arrest.
Source said BDR jawans raided the area and seized two LGs and a .22 bore pistol, and destroyed the terrorists’ den.
