Bangladesh’s emergency government will hold dialogue with the political parties as part of a roadmap to holding general elections at the end of the year, the head of the government said Saturday. In a televised address to the nation, Fakhruddin Ahmed said the government was also “considering lifting the emergency in phases” and would “ease curbs on politics” as major steps for a smooth transition to democracy.
