Croatia, currently serving a mandate as a non-permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, has been appointed chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee. The appointment represents an important step for the country from its days of war during the 1990s when Croatia was often on the U.N. Security Council’s agenda and subject to debate.
