Solomon Islands lawmakers voted in opposition candidate Derek Sikua as prime minister Thursday, the government said, a week after Parliament ousted the volatile South Pacific nation’s former leader. Troops and police patrolled the capital, Honiara, as Parliament voted, but no trouble was reported.
