Police have arrested at least 35 former communist rebels for attacking passenger buses while trying to enforce a general strike in southern Nepal, officials said Friday. The former rebels, widely known as the Maoists, have called for a general strike in the Rautahat district since Wednesday, demanding that the government punish those involved in an attack on a Maoist rally that left 28 people dead earlier this year.
