The leader of Poland’s liberal Civic Platform party, Donald Tusk, has been nominated as the country’s next prime minister by President Lech Kaczynski. The Civic Platform won last month’s parliamentary elections, but did not secure enough seats to govern alone. Mr Tusk is expected to form a coalition with the smaller Peasants’ Party. Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the president’s twin brother, tendered his government’s resignation on Monday after serving two years in office. Full Story
