20,000 march against military rule in Myanmar
About 20,000 people, half of them Buddhist monks, protested Sunday at a pagoda in downtown Yangon in an escalating show of dissent against the military government, witnesses said. The protest began around 1:30 pm (0700 GMT) with 5,000 people led by monks marching from the golden Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most important landmark, the witnesses said. Full Story
