Pakistan’s embattled leader Pervez Musharraf appeared Wednesday to be on the verge of a power-sharing pact with Benazir Bhutto after the former premier said he had agreed to resign as army chief. Bhutto said from London the pair had settled most issues, including Musharraf shedding his military uniform, a key part of negotiations for a deal. “We have finalised 80-90 percent of the matters, but some issues remain to be solved about the balance of power between presidency and parliament,” Bhutto told Pakistan’s private AAJ television.
