8 convicted over Casablanca bombings

A Paris court on Wednesday convicted eight people of supporting suicide bombers who blew themselves up in 2003 in Morocco, killing 45 people. Sentences ranged from a one-year suspended sentence to 10 years in prison. All eight were found guilty of “criminal association in relation to a terrorist enterprise,” a charge often used in France so that authorities can make a wide sweep in the search for terrorists and their accomplices.
