A Russian man who had been captured by American forces in Afghanistan and later released from the detention center in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, was killed Wednesday in a police raid near Chechnya, the Russian intelligence service said. The man, Ruslan Odizhev, was released by the United States in early 2004 and returned to Russia under an agreement that he and six other repatriated Russian detainees would be tried in Russian courts.
