Seven Thai soldiers were killed Friday by a roadside bomb and ambush in one of the deadliest attacks on security forces this year in the south of the country. The soldiers were rushing to the aid of other troops battling gunmen suspected of being Muslim insurgents in the Bannang Sata district of Yala Province when a bomb exploded near their vehicle, said Colonel Anirut Im-Erb of the police.
