Egypt and Iran will reportedly hold talks in coming days on the restoration of full diplomatic ties severed after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The talks come after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told reporters during a 14 May visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE): “We are determined to pursue normalization of relations with Egypt, and if the Egyptian government declares its readiness […] we are willing to open Iran’s embassy in Cairo.” Full Story
